something to think about

CELL PHONE vs BIBLE
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible
like our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our pocket?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back to get it, if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without
it?
What if we gave it to the children as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
This is something to make you go "hmm". Where is my
Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone we
don't have to worry about being disconnected because
Jesus already paid the bill.
Makes you stop and think –where are my priorities?
And no dropped calls!

FINALLY!

This is kind of old news for everybody around here, but it's still big news for me!
I am finally, once and for all de-braced!! A weird but wonderful feeling! ...to be able to run my tongue over smooth surfaces! ...to be able to eat an apple w/o having to cut it up! ...to be able to eat a sandwich and not spend just as much time cleaning out my braces as eating! ...same w/ corn on the cob! ...to have a bite that meets! ...and I could go on and on!
I didn't mind having braces at all! But boy, it's nice - after all these years - to finally be  brace free!!!

a stab at photography

Sunday we went up to uncle Delvin's for the afternoon.  Aunt Lily had ask me to try and take some family pictures of them, so that's what I endeavored to do. :)   I am NOT a photographer and have no claims on even being an amateur.  So please do not judge these pictures by such high standards.  I did have fun 'acting' like a photographer tho; bossing everybody around and telling them where to go, what to do and when to smile!

 Just Delvin and Lily

This is the mammoth swing set that uncle Delvin designed and built

old pics

I just happened to check xanga today, and then thought I should do a quick post while I was at it. So there are some pics of Jonny all dressed up, taken a couple months ago.   (The girls were playing dress up with their friends, and he was feeling left out, so mom found some things to dress him up in. lol)

 well, gotta run....

paraphrase of Proverbs 4

One of the assignment I had at bible school was to paraphrase at least 20 verses from the book of proverbs. (I know bible school was a long time ago, but thought I'd share it just the same.) This was the result:
  Proverbs 4
According to Kendra
1. Hear, my little sister, the instruction of an older sister, and attend to know and understand.
2. For I give you good advise, forsake not my law.
3. For we are both our mother's daughters, and I'm not the only beloved in her sight.
4. She was the one that taught me, and I'm saying to you, let your brain remember my words: keep my commandments and live.
5. Get wise and try to understand, don't forget it; and don't shut your ears to the words of my mouth.
6. Forsake not your jobs, or I won’t preserve you, but punish and counsel you.
7. Work is a principal thing, therefore get it done, and with all your getting, get even more done.
8. Then I will give you another job, and promote you to a bigger responsibility, after which I will honor you and embrace you.
9. A sweaty brow, and blistered palms shall it deliver unto you.
10. Hear, O little sister, and receive my sayings; that the years of your life may be many.
11. I have taught you in the way of work, I have led you to the broom closet.
12. Now GO!!  Your steps should be straight, and run without whining anymore.
13. Take first hold of the broom, don't let go, keep it, for that is part of your job you missed.
14. Enter not in the path to the computer, and watch not movies,(not even on youtube).
15. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and do your work, like I told you.
16. For I won't let you sleep unless you have done your jobs, and I will see to it your sleep is completely hazarded, unless you at least do some of them.
17. For you have already eaten bread and drank juice, so don't try any laziness.
18. But the path you have cleaned should be as the shining light, so keep scrubbing, more and more until it is perfectly clean.
19. The work of the lazy is as darkness: they leave stuff on the floor and stumble together with any of there victims.
20. My sister, attend to my words; incline your ear and pay attention unto my sayings.
21. Let them not depart from your memory, and keep them always in your mind.
22. For they are good education to those who listen, and health if you abide by them.
23. Keep your muscles with all diligence, if not I will take great issues with you.
24. Put away from you your backtalking, and sassy lips put far from you.
25. Let your eyes look straight at me when I speak, and roll them not back under your eyelids.
26. Ponder your vocation while you are occupied therewith, and let not such pondering delay your work or its quality.
27. Now turn to the right and to the left just as I bid you, and remove your foot,(and any other piece of your anatomy) from indolence.

“And all the people said, AMEN”
